Weekend = fun with family and friends!
This weekend was a long weekend because Monday was a holiday. Longer weekend equals more fun around here! :)
My weekend started off with a trip to a local church on Friday. It was very small and peaceful and the surrounding land was beautiful!

On Saturday we slept in and lounged around the house until later that night when my host family took me to an interactive museum called Cicat. The museum had many fun, interactive things and some examples of some of the ways telescopes and other equipment are used to observe space. We ended our evening with a trip to the coast where we ate the most delicious seafood empanadas!

On Sunday we also slept in and then headed to a friend's house for dinner in the city of Yumbel. Their house was in a beautiful country area!

After dinner and spending time with friends, we headed off to my host family's house in the country. It is in the city of Quillon. Here, we played games and hung out like a true family. It was delightful!

On Monday we went into the town of Chillan to go shopping. They had so many beautiful original, handcrafted items. I forgot to take a picture while I was shopping so this picture is from afar.

After shopping in Chillan, we headed back to the house in the country where my host dad made homemade pizza in his brick oven outside under the gazebo. Some family friends joined us for lunch and an afternoon of climbing the hills and looking out over the beautiful landscape and seeing the Andes mountains from atop the hill.

After all of this fun we returned to our home in Concepcion. I say this was the quite the weekend and I enjoyed it thoroughly! :)
