Starting to feel like home... by Samantha Johnese

We have been in Concepcion for a whole week now! Even though it has only been a week, it feels like I have been here for so long because I stay busy all the time. We are all settling into our routines now and it is really starting to feel like home. The children in my host home tell me that they are my Chilean brothers and I am their sister for now. I feel like I am becoming a normal part of their family and it feels good to be included and involved.

The Thomas Jefferson School has been great! My teacher, Miss Claudia, tells me that we are a team and that we teach in "our" classroom. I really enjoy working alongside her and learning from her.

Here are a few photos of my journey thus far.
