WOW!! The saying "Time flies when you are having fun" is by all means very true when I look back on my first week in Concepcion, Chile!!! My family and my classroom at the Thomas Jefferson School has been nothing but fantastic!!! While yes I was a little anxious and nervous about the trip all those feelings were set aside when I met my family. The parents dont speak much English so thankfully my 10 year old sister Fransica came to the rescue. My family is a family of five..I guess 6 when you count me and there is lets say..never a dull moment.The first full day I was here we had a great tour of the city of Concepcion. My sister even drew me an entire map of all the places that we would be visiting! I saw the Bio Bio river which was beautiful and we had lunch at the marina. Not only am I having a blast with my host family despite some communication issues due to language but I am also having a wonderful experience in my Pre-K classroom. My teacher aid in my class (Ms. Carla) and I have really become very close in the short time I have been there. She is same age and is actually a translator so she is fluent in Spanish, English and German. She is very curious about the United States and so we have many things to talk about throughout the day. I have so many pictures of my students but have not uploaded them on my camera so be on the look out for those coming soon. Here are a few of my family. Enjoy!!!
